GM & Happy start to the Ethereum Merge!! "The Merge" entails of the ETH blockchain transitioning from "Proof of Work" (PoW) to "Proof of Stake" (PoS). We're guessing you've seen a lot about this, but what does it mean & what are the benefits?

PoW- blockchain is maintained by computers doing "work" to solve complex math puzzles. As a result, the computers are rewarded for their work and receive tokens. This is the process of "mining."

PoS-  computers prove they can be trusted by putting their tokens at risk. They STAKE (lock up for a period time for later rewards) their tokens. If they submit incorrect information, their tokens get taken.

The transition from PoW to PoS decreases the energy usage of the blockchain by around 99%! This is an incredible step in the right direction & some say it will increase the appeal to purchase $ETH.

While the Merge start is taking place now, the process to fully transition will be rather lengthy. We're eager to see what happens. For more on the Ethereum merge, check out our helpful guide below!
