• ERC-20 Token- a standard for creating and issuing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. These tokens represent an asset right, ownership, access, cryptocurrency, or anything else that is not unique in and of itself but can be transferred.

• Protocol- a basic set of rules that allows data to be shared between computers. For cryptocurrencies, they establish the structure of the blockchain -- the distributed database that allows digital money to be securely exchanged on the internet.
